Throughout Julia James’ ten year career in education, she saw the need for services geared toward growing and developing the child as a whole. Her passion for education and development allowed her to discover that in order for a child to prosper; she must foster an environment of holistic practices, training, and most importantly engagement not only from the family but the community to form a recipe for success. Thriv & G.R.O.E. Academy, LLC, established in 2017, focuses on providing educational coaching, scholarships, teaching, and solutions to benefit our youth.
Julia received her bachelor degree in Education from the University of Houston and became a Certified Teacher in 2012, serving HISD and Spring ISD. She became a proud member of Kappa Delta Pi, an academic sorority focused on service to the community. She earned a master’s degree from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign in Global Educational Leadership & Policy and in 2016 and completed her Executive Leadership in Administration Program from Lamar University.
Julia is active in her community as a member of the Tri County Regional Black Chamber of Commerce. She has also participated in international education consulting through Belize’s Educational System in order to promote healthily school systems, economic solutions, and cultural diversity.

Academy, LLC mission is to offer the global educational advantage through equipping, sharpening, mentoring, business coaching, and lending a helping hand by way of offering 21st century training services to help a parent and child be the best they can be.
